Jack Bellew, 68

Jack D. Bellew, 68, of Jordan, Ark.,  passed away Jan. 31, 2012, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

He was born to the late Jack Delbert and Evelyn Edna (Hanson) Bellew March 23, 1943, in Hanna, Wyo.

Jack served as an Electronic Technician in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service in the armed forces, he received his Bachelors of Arts in Business Education from Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., and then his Masters of Arts in Business from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.

He married Mary Alice Bennett June 19, 1966, in Red Oak.

He was a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner for the United States Department of Agriculture.

Jack and Mary relocated to Jordan, from Denver, in 2004.

Jack was a member of the USS Guadalupe Reunion Association and the East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Ark. He loved leatherwork.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Joel Bellew.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Bellew, of Jordan; a son, Robert Joel (Carla) Bellew, of Dallas; two sisters, Virginia (Gary) Vance, of Hawaii, and Carol Ann (Larry) Mincy, of Maryville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Julia Victoria and David Joel Bellew, both of Dallas; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral took place Friday, Feb. 3, at the East Side Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Shy and Rev. Bob Mathis officiating. Military honors were provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ozark Post 3246. Interment was private and under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home. The family received friends Friday at East Side Baptist Church.
