Millie Jenkins, 84, of Webster City, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Crestview Senior Living in Webster City.
Millie Arlene Hutchings was born to Adam and Bessie Walker Hutchings Oct. 6, 1927, in Bristow, Okla. She received her education in Oklahoma.
Millie married Elmer J. Jenkins May 25, 1946, in Bristow. The family resided in Red Oak for 40 years. Elmer passed away Nov. 17, 2011.
Millie babysat in her home for several years and was a seamstress. She worked at Union Carbide in Red Oak for 13 years. She loved to sew, crochet and do crafts and she loved her family.
Millie moved with her family to Webster City in 1989, then moved back to Red Oak and returned to Webster City in 2001. She resided at Windsor Manor for two years and the past few weeks at Crestview Senior Living.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Majel Diann and Twyla Belle Jenkins; sister, Juanita Plum; brothers, Cleo and Everette Hutchings; nephews, Kenneth and Paul Hutchings; nieces, Faye Plum, Kristine Chiles and Chloe Victor; great-nephew, Justin Benton; and great-niece, Kari Hensel.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Denise "Dee" (Stu) Berns, of Webster City; grandchildren, Sarah and Aimee Gauthier, and Shantel (Brian) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Lila Bowman, and Eden Gauthier; sister, Doris Jean (Bob) Hensel, of Atlantic; sister-in-law, Mable McCuen, of Stanton; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services took place Saturday, April 7, at Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, with Rev. George Hooper officiating. Visitation was Friday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
