Incident Reports

On June 11, at 11:11 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office took a theft report from Spencer Ralph Johnson, 67, of Red Oak. Johnson stated sometime between June 10, at 11:30 p.m., and June 11, at 11 a.m., someone stole a large pile of copper wire from the shed at his residence. Johnson estimates his loss at $500. Anyone with information is urged to call the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 623-5107.

On June 12, at 3:31 a.m., the Sheriff's Office investigated a theft from 2266 Ginkgo Ave., south of Red Oak. It was determined someone(s) entered the property with a SUV and hooked up to the victims’ utility trailer and left heading north on Ginkgo Ave., from the residence. The trailer was hauling a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 4X4, green, with a yellow boom sprayer on the back rack of the ATV. Anyone with information about the incident should call Montgomery County Crimestoppers at (800) 432-1001 or the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 623-5107.

On June 13, at 5:30 p.m., Larry Edward Singleton, Jr., of Ralston, Neb., parked his white, 2007 Dodge Caliber at the Super 8 Motel. When he returned to his vehicle with his work truck to transfer some things into his Dodge he saw someone had broken out the driver’s side rear window.

 

Accident Reports

On June 11, at 6:40 p.m., Ian Richard Medeiros visited the Sheriff's Office to report a hit and run accident. He stated his 2005 Suzuki FZS was damaged on the left rear side. Medeiros was parked in the HyVee parking lot on the east side at the time of the incident. Estimated damage is $1,500.

On June 12, officers of the Red Oak Police Department were called to the intersection of E. Linden St., and N. 5th St., on report of an accident. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Laurel Edene Smith, 73, of Red Oak, who stated she was traveling east on E. Linden St., when a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Rodney Lee Winroth, 63, of Red Oak, crossed over the road striking her 1998 Buick Century Custom on the driver’s side. Estimated damage to Smith’s car was $1,500. The motorcycle sustained an estimated $500 in damage and Winroth was issued a citation for operation of a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.

On June 13, at 4:51 p.m., officers of the Red Oak Police Department were called to W. Oak and N. Broadway St., for an accident. A 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Adam Seth Hietbrink, 37, of Red Oak, thought a 2006 Freightliner semi driven by Ronald Philip Franks, 69, of Essex, was going to go straight and pulled up next to it. The semi then began to turn right and struck Hietbrink's van on the left side. Estimated damage to the van is $4,500 and estimated damage to the semi is $100. No citations were issued.
