Incident Reports

On June 8, at 11:46 a.m., deputies of the montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary at Park West Storage Units located in the 1900 block of G Ave. The victim, Patti Rae Jipsen, 51, of Red Oak, reported her two storage units had the locks cut off and an antique mirror, hurricane lamp and Charmed DVD series were taken from the units. Jipsen estimates her loss at $500. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 623-5107 or the Montgomery County Crimestoppers at (800) 432-1001.

On June 8, at 2:50 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stopped Zachary Alan Frank, 29, of Atlantic, for speeding at 81 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had no insurance for the motorcycle he was riding. The motorcycle was towed and Frank was issued citations for speeding, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia, but was released at the scene.

On June 10, at 3:07 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office took report of a stolen trailer from Delaine Willmer Isaacson, 72, of Red Oak. It was determined a red, 2004 H&H two-wheel trailer was stolen from 1655 Ironwood Ave., between 10:30 a.m.-3:07 p.m., June 10. Anyone with information should contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or Montgomery County Crimestoppers.

On June 11, at 1:09 p.m., a 17-year-old male was found to be in possession of alcohol at Legion Park. The defendant was issued a citation and released to a parent.

On June 16, at 9:33 a.m., the Montgomery County Communications Center took report of a vehicle burglary occurring in the 1200 block of N. 5th St., Red Oak. The victim's purse was found on Elm St., by an unknown citizen and returned. The only items discovered to be missing were a debit card and an employee identification card for Direct TV.

On June 16, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into an underage beer party in Coburg. Upon arrival, deputies investigated and arrested Chloey Elizabeth Major, 18, Colby William Wise, 19, Justin Lewis Marsden, 20, and Hilary Jo Jackson, 19, all of Red Oak.

On June 18, at 12:16 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office took report of a burglary from John Delaine Hanson, 38, of Clarinda. Hanson stated between 10-11:30 a.m., someone forced entry into his machine shed located at 2603 Montgomery/Page St., and siphoned fuel from his seed cart. Hanson estimates his loss at $210. Anyone with information should contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or Montgomery County Crimestoppers.

Sometime between June 18, at 5 p.m., and June 19, at 8:27 a.m., someone used an unknown object to break a double pane window on the west side of the West Central Development office located at 1109 Highland Ave., in Red Oak. The part of the building the damage was caused to is occupied by the Montgomery County Emergency Management Services and the estimated damage is $300.

 

Accident Reports

On June 16, at 3:51 p.m., a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup owned and operated by Miles Ryan Pein, 25, of Glenwood, was traveling west on 210th St., and was radared and observed by deputy Stephens to be traveling at 81 mph in a 55 mph zone. The truck was swerving all over the roadway and Pein lost control and wrecked in the south ditch at 1351 210th St. The truck sustained an estimated damage of $5,000. Pein attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended and arrested on several charges, including speeding and failure to maintain control of a vehicle as well as two warrants out of Mills County. The first warrant was for first degree theft and the second for arson in the second degree. Pein is being held at the Montgomery County Jail and will be turned over to Mills County at a later date pending current charges.

 

Fire Department


The Red Oak Fire Department submitted the following information report regarding incidents occurring between the dates of June 14 and June 21: Medical Emergencies-17, Inner Facility Transfers-9, Structure Fires-1, CO Alarm-1, Smoke Investigation-1, Illegal Burn-1, Total Incidents-30. Additional Comments: Midwest Regional Dive Training was cancelled due to weather. The Red Oak Fire Department has also scheduled a tour of the new jail facility.
