Allison Behrens is the daughter of Rick and Nancy Behrens, Sarah Hayes is the daughter of Dr. Warren and Peggy Hayes and Katherine Jardon is the daughter of Joe and Mary Jardon.
These local students were part of a select group of about 400 school musicians from across Iowa. The 2010 tour was a 19-day event that included three days of rehearsal in Grinnell, with a farewell concert on campus on July 2. The Ambassadors then had a 16-day concert tour covering England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Liechtenstein. The students performed concerts in each country except Liechtenstein.

To be considered for membership in IAM, students must be recommended by their school music teachers as having superior music skills and possessing high character. After this initial recommendation, the students are contacted bout the opportunity to participate as an Iowa Music Ambassador. The students performed in either the band or choir on the tour. They were accompanied by nearly 60 advisors.
The Iowa Ambass-adors of Music have toured Europe in 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008. Red Oak area students have been on every tour.
