Viqueens get win over Essex, after close loss to Blue Jays

STANTON — The Stanton Viqueens got back in the win column Friday night by defeating the Essex Trojanettes 64-39 in Corner Conference girls’ basketball action.

After trailing 13-12 in the first quarter, the Viqueens’ offense scored 26 points to take a commanding lead at halftime.

Sara Sederburg had a big game off the bench for the Viqueens, scoring 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including 6-for-8 from beyond the three-point line, with five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
