Charles “Chuck” Edward Berglund, 79, of Pleasant Hill, died Nov. 14, 2008, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial services were Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona with military honors performed.
Chuck was born Aug. 20, 1929, the son of Wallace and Helen (Lindgren) Berglund. He married Rosie Seig February 20, 1954 and they lived most of their married life in Shenandoah, until moving to Pleasant Hill two years ago.
He was an Army veteran, proudly serving his country in the Korean Conflict. Chuck was a pilot and had a passion for flying, with the most recent flight being two months ago on his birthday.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosie of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Carla (Randy) Meiners of Pleasant Hill; son, Danne Berglund of Des Moines; and grandchildren, Ben and Kelsey Meiners and Zach and Brian Berglund.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of the Cross or Mercy Hospice in loving memory of Chuck.
Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
