Accidents

  • On Dec. 2 at 3:25 p.m., Montgomery County Communications Center received a 911 call of a two-vehicle, personal injury accident one-quarter mile west of Hwy 48 on Hwy 34 at the railroad tracks. Upon arrival, it was determined an Old Dominion Freight Line Company 2013 freightliner semi-tractor with trailer, operated by Brian S. Antisdel, 47, Omaha, was sitting in the westbound lane of Hwy 34 at the railroad with flashers on. A 2013 Dodge 1500, owned and operated by Clinton Wade Rubey, 67, Red Oak, was also westbound and did not see the stopped semi. The Rubey vehicle struck the rear of the trailer, causing a personal injury accident. Rubey was transported to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by Red Oak Rescue with minor injuries. Antisdel did not claim injury at the time of investigation. Damage to the semi is estimated at $20,000. Damage to the Rubey vehicle is estimated at $40,000. Rubey will be cited for failure to stop in a safe and assured distance. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Red Oak Police Department and Red Oak Fire and Rescue.
  • On Dec. 9 at 6:21 a.m., the Montgomery County Communications Center received a 911 call of a single-vehicle, person-injury accident at Hwy 34 and Evergreen Ave. west of Red Oak. Upon arrival, it was determined a 2010 Dodge Avenger, owned and operated by Kelley Ann Kinser, 36, of Elliott was westbound on Hwy 34 when she attempted to pull into the slow lane to let another vehicle pass. She lost control and entered the north ditch causing a personal injury accident. There was no damage to the vehicle and no citations were issued due to roadway conditions. Kinser was transported to MCMH by Red Oak Rescue for possible injuries. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Red Oak Police Department and Red Oak Fire and Rescue.
