The art and science of bee keeping March 12 in Malvern

“The Art and Science of Bee Keeping”with Mark and Debra Swirmicky

 

The Mills County Master Gardeners will be hosting its second seminar in the “Spring into Spring” series on Tuesday, March 12th, 7 PM. Mark and Debra Swirmicky will give a presentation on “The Art and Science of Bee Keeping”. The Swirmicky’s own and operate Lone Star Meadow Honey. They currently manage around 30 colonies and produce a wide variety of products from the honey and beeswax. They will be talking about the importance of pollinators, honeybee biology, bee keeping equipment and a Year of the Beekeeper. This seminar will be held at the Lakin Center located on the Mills County Fairgrounds, Malvern, IA.The cost to attend this seminar is $2.00. No pre-registration is required.
