Axne to talk to Firehouse in Red Oak

-A A +A

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 6, Congresswoman Cindy Axne will return to flood-affected communities to survey damages and meet with constituents, small business owners and farmers who have been impacted by the devasting flooding in Southwest Iowa. Senior FEMA Representative Tim Scranton will also be in attendance.
Today, Rep. Axne sent a letter House and Senate leadership expressing disappointment in the Senate for failing to pass a disaster supplemental funding bill and calling on both chambers to immediately act to ensure Iowa communities receive the federal assistance they need to rebuild and recover. Additionally, Rep. Axne has called on House and Senate appropriators to increase funding for federal disaster aid, invited Secretaries of USDA and U.S. Department of Homeland Security to tour affected flood areas, and called on USDA to authorize the same programs for Iowa farmers that they have for Nebraska.
Media interested in attending can RSVP to Madeleine Russak at (202) 336- 3414 or email madeleine.russak@mail.house.gov.
