By Geoff Preston

What started out as a mild, sunny Tuesday at Clarinda High School quickly turned into a dark, stormy evening as the girls Cardinal Relays was delayed midway through due to lightning.

The meet was ultimately halted following the 4x200 meter relay.

Essex, Red Oak, Stanton, East Mills, Southwest Valley and Griswold were able to post results before weather stopped the meet.

Red Oak

The Red Oak girls team had strong performances in the JV discus, JV 400 meter run, the varsity 400 meter run and the varsity shuttle hurdle relay.
