Corn prices continue to be low in July
The average price received by farmers for corn during July in Iowa was $3.14 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was up 3 cents from the June price but 97 cents below July 2019.
The July 2020 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $8.48 per bushel, was up 20 cents from the June price and 10 cents above July 2019.
The July average oat price per bushel was $3.20, down 65 cents from June and 40 cents below July 2019.
All hay prices in Iowa averaged $105.00 per ton in July. This was down $1.00 from the June price and $8.00 below the July 2019 price. The July 2020 alfalfa hay price averaged $112.00, down $1.00 from the previous month and $11.00 below July 2019. The average price received for other hay during July was $88.00 per ton. This was up $1.00 from the June price but $7.00 below the July 2019 price.
The July average price was $23.50 per cwt for milk, up $2.80 from the June price and $4.40 above one year ago.
