East Mills girls 1st at Stanton

The East Mills girls rolled up 158 team points to win the team title at the Stanton Relays last Tuesday.

Fremont-Mills was second at the meet with 110 points.

The Wolverines got first place medals from Shelby Sommerla in the 3,000 and 1,600-meters, Amy Walker in the 100-meters and from their 4x800, 4x200 and 4x100-meter relays.

Stanton earned 97 team points thanks to Taylor Wagg’s near sweep of the throwing events, placing first in the shot and second in the discus. Kadie Subbert added a gold medal in the high jump and Celia Bruning a silver in the long jump.

Essex got a first place finish from Joscelyn Coleman in the 100-meters hurdles and the long jump to score 74 team points for fourth place.
