East Mills Wolverines struggle at State

DES MOINES — Participating in six events, East Mills was hoping to have a good showing at the State Track Meet last week. They were disappointed to not crack the top 15 in any of those events.
Brandon Clemons finished 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.36. He joined Kyle Steiner, Nick Pittmon, and Jake Bolton as part of the 4x100-meter relay, which also took 16th place.
The Wolverines felt their 4x200 relay team of Clemmons, Bolton, Kyle Steiner, and Nathen Day, had their best chance at placing, struggled with their exchanges and finished in 20 with a time of 1:36.71.
In individual events, Bolton and Steiner finished 21 and 22 in the 100-meter dash with times of 11.72 and 11.74, respectively. Neither qualified for the finals.
Senior Dylan Larsen also threw the shot put at State finishing 23rd, throwing 41 feet, 8.25 inches.
East Mills did not have any girls who qualified for State.
With a large senior class, the Wolverines will look to rebuild next season.
