  • Community Bible Study’s Fall Schedule

    In today’s uncertain and troubling times, what hope does the historical Jesus offer?  Is anything Jesus said relevant for us today?   Community Bible Study’s examination of the life of Jesus Christ through the study of the Gospel of Luke will provide answers to these questions and more.

  • Crusaders coming

    Singing groups come and go but not the Crusaders. This gospel group has been singing together for 44 years, the same four people, and they are coming to Red Oak.

    As teenagers in the mid-60s, the Crusaders grew to be one of the Midwest’s best-known gospel groups.
    The Crusaders will be presenting concerts on  Aug. 22 at First United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. at 600 East Hammond and at the Church of the Nazarene at 401 Prospect at 6 p.m. There is no charge, but a free will offering will be taken.

  • Financial Peace University offered

    Faith Community Church will be having a Financial Peace University (FPU) a 13 week dvd-based class that helps people manage money, get out of debt and operate with new freedom in financial decisions.
    FPU is taught by Dave Ramsey, nationally recognized speaker and New York Times best selling author.  

  • New Pastor at Nishna Church of Christ

    The Nishna Church of Christ has a new Pastor. Joseph Stapleton and his family have moved into a full time ministry, he and his wife bring five children and a grandchild to the community.
    More info can be obtained during his office hours, Tues-Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

  • VBS starting Aug. 9

    Grace Baptist Church of Red Oak will have Vacation Bible School, Aug. 9-Aug. 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m., for K4 through those completing the sixth grade. The theme will be “Fight the Good Fight of Faith”. This year’s VBS will be lead by Evangelist Lars Wessburg, who years ago served a pastor of Grace Baptist Church.
    There will be competition between Army and Navy teams. There will be music, Bible Time, prizes, refreshments, missionary stories and more. For more information call 623-9615.

  • Grateful Heart will perform in Red Oak

    Faith Community Church announced the Southern Gospel Quartet Grateful Heart is coming to the Red Oak area on Aug. 8.
    They will be performing at 2:30 p.m. as part of Faith Community’s “A.G.E. ~ A Generational Encounter” activities. The Grateful Heart concert is free and open to the public. Faith Community Church is located at 2701 N. 8th Street in Red Oak.

  • Clothing give-away

    Villisca Advent Christian Church is having its 7th annual clothing give-away beginning on Aug. 9 and runs the entire week.
    There are hundreds of pieces of clothing, shoes, purses and accessories for the family and it’s all free.  Bring a container to carry it home.  The church is located at 300 South 2nd Avenue in Villisca, will be open the following hours through the week:

  • Bible Times to meet in Chautauqua Park, July 31

    An Ecumenical Bible Times Experience, “Antioch 49 A.D.”  will be held on July 31 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Chautauqua Park in Red Oak.
    Children entering kinder-garten through sixth grade are invited to register and attend this Bible School.  Lunch will be provided.
    Churches sponsoring this Bible Times Experience are: Presbyterian, First Christian, First Cong. UCC,  St. Mary’s Catholic, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
