Fourth generation joins Davis-Taylor Insurance agency

RED OAK — Another generation of Taylors has joined the Davis-Taylor Insurance agency in Red Oak.

Nathan Taylor is the fourth generation agent at Davis-Taylor, which opened 105 years ago and is currently owned and operated by his father, Rick.

After spending more than a year working in the computer industry in Kansas City, Taylor decided the familiar haunts of the family’s insurance agency was the place for him.

“I was born and raised with this job. I’ve been hanging out in this office and going to functions with my dad since I was a kid,” he said. “It fit me like a perfect pair of jeans.”

Nathan is licensed for all personal lines of insurance and soon will be licensed for commercial insurance. In the future, he will also be licensed for life and crop.

Taylor said as an independent agent, he enjoys helping people find the best fit for their insurance needs.

“What makes my day is when someone comes into the office who has been paying up to their arms in premiums, and I can save them some money and still give them some excellent coverage and service,” he said.

After graduating from Red Oak High School in 2005, Nathan earned a degree in Marketing and Business from Iowa State University in 2009.

While enrolled in Red Oak, Nathan was active in golf, National Honor Society and student body government.

He remains an active golfer and is a member of the Red Oak Country Club and the Montgomery County YMCA. He also enjoys hunting, traveling and has a passion for cars.
