Dr. William Butz, Claudia Balta, and the entire staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Red Oak were recently honored with The Meaning of Care Award.
Annette Schnell and her brother Mike Muller made gifts in their names to Methodist Hospital Foundation to say thank you for the amazing care that MPC Red Oak provided to their late parents, Jim and Connie Muller.
In addition to their donations, Annette and Mike provided a boxed lunch to all of the staff members at MPC Red Oak at the award presentation.
Annette is an alumni of Nebraska Methodist College. Her late mother, Connie, was a caregiver at MPC Red Oak. The connection that her family has to MPC Red Oak and Methodist is very strong and seems bigger than a typical patient/caregiver relationship.
The staff at Red Oak held a fundraiser for her family several years ago. Her mother, Connie, passed away before her father did, and the Red Oak Staff went above and beyond in caring for Jim after her passing.
This following was the information shared by Annette as part of the Meaning of Care award nomination:
“Almost every single team member at the Red Oak clinic has had the opportunity to either work with my mom or care for my dad over the years. The amount of support you provided mom while dad was sick and at Mayo was astounding. I know how grateful both mom and dad were for your support. Then, after mom passed away, you all took dad under your wings and made sure he was okay. You made him meals, you gave him hugs, and you took time out of your busy days to chat with him when he needed someone to listen. You didn’t just stop there either. You made sure I was okay mentally and physically because you knew the toll it would take on me to care for dad’s unique needs. You kept me informed, didn’t hesitate to take my calls, answered my countless questions and listened to all my suggestions. To the providers, thank you for supporting mom and dad all these years. You were a blessing to them in so many ways. And to everyone else, thank you for being a part of the team that cared for my parents. You all became part of our family and #teammuller. We are eternally grateful for your kind, caring nature. I know two angels are looking down smiling as I type this knowing the good deeds you do every day. God bless all of you.”
In reference to Dr. William Butz, the award nomination read:
“Thank you for being there, praying with me, and most of all, being a part of our family. You were a light in the darkness the past few years. I cannot thank you enough. Everyone deserves to have a Dr. Bill looking out for their parent.”
