Kids cool off at water party

Kids in Red Oak took advantage of an opportunity to beat the heat last week.

On Wednesday, the Red Oak Public Library held its annual summer water party event. Roughly 60 kids took part in the activities offered by the library.

Participants had the opportunity to use hoses, soak themselves in a sprinkler, cool off in a pool, or do battle with squirt guns and hoses.

Library director Kathi Most said the water party is an annual event that has been going on for decades.
