Community rallies around Sheriff Joe

Members of the Red Oak community and others around Southwest Iowa were on hand to show their support to Montgomery County Sheriff Joe Sampson.

A benefit was held for Sampson at the White Fair building in order to raise money for Sampson’s medical expenses for his treatment for prostate cancer.

A free will offering dinner was provided, as well as a live and silent auction. Red Oak Police Chief Justin Rhamy, who was one of the many emergency responders who helped coordinate Sampson’s benefit, said the turn-out for the benefit was well over 1,000.
