ACCIDENTS
- On Nov. 28 at about 5:12 p.m. Red Oak police officers investigated a two-car injury accident at the intersection of Valley and Second Streets. A 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Valerie Sue Garner, Red Oak, had been travelling east on Valley and having the right of way, entered the intersection where it was struck by a 2001 Volkswagon Jetta driven by Heather Nicole Graham, Red Oak. The vehicles left the street and Garner came to rest on the sidewalk, while Graham’s vehicle struck the porch of 111 E. Valley St. Damage to the Durango was about $4,000 and to the Jetta about $6,000. Graham was taken to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Garner was cited with failure to prove security against liability (accident) and Graham was cited for failure to yield to vehicle on the right.
- On Dec. 4 at about 8:17 a.m. Red Oak police officers were called to the scene of a two-car injury accident at the intersection of Broadway and Oak Streets. A 2000 Ford F-150 pick-up driven by Dennis Reynolds, Elliott was travelling south on Broadway and ran the red light, hitting the 1997 Saturn driven by Bonnie Jean Norris, Red Oak. Estimated damage to the pick-up was $2,000 and damage to the Saturn was estimated at $4,000, a total loss. Norris was taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, and Reynolds was cited with failure to obey traffic signal.
