13 new COVID-19 cases reported in the county

Between Aug. 1-7, Montgomery County saw an additional 13 people test positive for Coronavirus.

Of the cases, two were children age 0-17, seven in adults age 18-40, and four in middle-aged adults age 41-60.

The total confirmed cases in the county is at 54, of which 37 have recovered. There was an additional death of an elderly adult, over the age of 80, bringing the number of COVID-19 fatalities to four.

“Cases are continuing to increase, not only in Montgomery County, but surrounding counties. It is still so important to practice social distancing and when social distancing can not be practiced, it is recommended to wear a mask,” said Samantha Beeson, Montgomery County Public Health administrator. “It is also still important to remember to stay home when feeling ill.”
