15 seniors, one coach honored at senior night

Red Oak bowling hosted Creston on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and the Red Oak Athletic Boosters recognized 15 seniors and head coach Mike Webb, who is retiring at the end of the season after 14 years of coaching, the last seven in Red Oak.
The Tiger bowling teams earned a clean sweep on the week.
Creston
“We picked up wins from all four teams against Creston,” Red Oak assistant bowling coach David Terry said. “Team chemistry is such a big thing for bowling, and we are now to the point of no return as our season is reaching the post season.”
Girls
Red Oak defeated Creston 2,326-2,059 in varsity and 1,961-1,476 in JV.
The varsity girls were led by Carrington Meek with a two-game series of 437, her high game score of 222.
Other individual totals: Ashley Wilkins 321, Calista Anderson 306, Lillian Johnson 304, Emily Berkey 277, and Peyton Meek 273. The Bakers total was 681.
JV girls were led by Jenna Klyn with a 163 and 141 for a series of 304.
Other individual totals: Erica Walker 270, Kadee Gass 270, Brianna Clemons 265, and Katelynn Bingham 184. The JV Bakers total was 668.
Boys
Red Oak varsity boys defeated Creston 2,943-2,323, and the JV team won 2,375-1,194.
Red Oak varsity was led by Derek Baucom, who bowled a 236 and 215 for a  451 series.
Other individual totals: Austin Wilkins 426, Jon Piper 419, Caden Hall 370, Noah Westerlund 370, and Corbin Wolfe 323. The Bakers total was 907.
JV boys were led by Nate Ernst with a 182 and 209 for a 391 series.
Other individual totals: Kyle Berkey 320, Hunter Graham 308, Brandon Conn 285, Caspian Richardson 261, and Aiden Eubank 247. The JV Bakers total was 810.
Lewis Central
Red Oak hosted Lewis Central on Friday, Jan. 24, defeating the Titans in all four games.
“It is great to have a clean sweep for the week,” Terry said. “The guys are on the verge of 3,000 and the girls are oh-so-close to 2,400. The guys are just needing to put both rounds together. On Tuesday, they had a huge round one, but didn’t have a strong round two. On Friday, it was completely opposite, where they shot a Baker round average of 218. The girls are trending up in all aspects, and the improvement every meet is great.”
Red Oak girls defeated Lewis Central 2,385-2,235 in the varsity game, and 1,599-1,263 in JV.
Tiger varsity girls were led by Johnson with games of 139 and 216 for a 355 total.
Other individual totals: Berkey 340, C. Meek 315, Anderson 275, Wilkins 273, and P. Meek 239. The Bakers total was 827. The Bakers total was 827.
JV girls were led by Klyn with totals of 125, and 119 for a series total of 244.
Other individual totals: Gass 234, Walker 233, and Bingham 183. JV Bakers total was 705.
Boys
Tiger varsity boys defeated the Titans 2,979-2,913 with a Bakers total of 1,093.
Hall set the pace for the varsity team with games of 213 and 205 for a series total of 418.
Other individual totals: Baucom 398, Westerlund 395, Wilkins 373, Piper 302, and Ernst 296.
The boys JV team was led by Berkey with games of 206 and 170 for a series total of 376. JV Bakers total was 769.
Other individual totals: Wolfe 365, Conn 336, Kaden Grammer 300, Jonah Wemhoff 290, and Isaac Hildago 267. The JV Bakers total was 769.
Red Oak bowlers will compete in Denison on Thursday, Jan. 30 beginning at 3:45 p.m.
