1A Boys Basketball District assignments released

DES MOINES — The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the district assignments for Class 1A and 2A in boys' basketball Monday.

There have been a few new changes to 1A districts. Both Stanton and Villisca will be in District 16 with South Page, while the rest of the Corner Conference is in District 1.

Non-conference teams joining Stanton in District 16 includes Corning, Bedford, Cumberland Anita Massena, Corning, Exira-EHK, Griswold and Lenox.

Essex and East Mills will be in District 1, with Sidney, Fremont-Mills, Nishnabotna, Heartland Christian, Riverside, St. Albert, Treynor and Walnut.

District assignments for Class 3A and 4A won't be released until next week. The district and substate brackets will be released later this month.
