INCIDENTS
- On or around Jan. 28 a yellow and black Fast and the Furious chopper bike, valued at $400, was stolen from the 200 block of East Hammond Street in Red Oak.
ACCIDENTS
- On Feb. 8 at about 3:42 p.m. Red Oak Police officers were called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 4th and Joy Streets. Amanda Huebner, 22, Red Oak, driving a 2003 Ford Windstar, failed to yield and was struck by a 1993 GMC Sierra K1500 pick-up driven by Michael King, 43, Red Oak. Both drivers were transported to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by Red Oak Rescue. Damage to Huebner’s vehicle was $6,000 and damage to King’s vehicle was $2,000. Huebner was cited for failure to prove security against liability (accident), failure to obey stop or yield sign, and operation without registration.
- On Feb. 9 at about 6:16 p.m. Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident. Emily Greenfield, 29, Villisca, driving a 2008 Kia Sorento, failed to remain stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of 5th and Corning Streets. Greenfield pulled out in front of a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Chandra McCaffrey, 29, who was unable to stop and struck Greenfield’s vehicle. Damages were estimated at $1,500 for Greenfield’s vehicle and $600 for McCaffrey’s vehicle. Greenfield was cited for failure to remain stopped at stop sign.
- On Feb. 10 at about 1:41 p.m. Red Oak Police officers were called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 4th and Joy Streets. Tyler McMann, 16, Red Oak, driving a 2007 Ford Focus, failed to obey a yield sign and entered the intersection, where his vehicle was struck by a 2006 Buick LeSabre driven by Lucas Mellott, 16, Emerson, who was unable to stop. Damage to Mellott’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000 and McMann’s vehicle was considered a total loss with $7,000 damage. McMann was cited for failure to obey yield sign.
