INCIDENTS
- On Jan. 26 at about 4:20 p.m. the Red Oak Police Department received a report from Gary Clear, Jr., Red Oak, that an unknown individual forced entry into his garage causing minor damage. Several items had been tampered with and miscellaneous items stored outside were taken. Officers believe the individual may have been scared off by a passerby.
- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary of the United Farmers Mercantile Cooperative elevator in Villisca that took place during the nighttime hours of Jan. 28 - Jan. 29. Unknown individuals entered the building and removed an undetermined amount of cash.
ACCIDENTS
- On Jan. 29 at 11:53 a.m. the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle property-damage accident in Villisca. A blue 2005 Chevy Impala owned and operated by Ashley Colwell, 20, Corning was westbound on 8th St. when the driver attempted to adjust her seat belt. The vehicle went off the road and across a driveway, striking a dumpster owned by Brown Sanitation Services of Villisca. Damage to the Impala is estimated at $1,500 and $150 to the dumpster. No citations were issued.
