Accident Reports
On June 13, at 8:40 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office received a report of an accident at the intersection of 110th St. and Q Ave. A 1975 GMC truck owned by Ronald Adams and driven by Merlin Rasmussen, 70, Red Oak, was northbound on Q Ave. when he failed to stop at the sign at 110th St. A 1988 International flatbed truck owned by Wright Trucking, LC and driven by James Swanson, 21, Marne, was pulling a 2010 Titan flatbed trailer owned by Lyman Ag Supply, Inc. and heading westbound on 110th St. Swanson was unable to stop and struck Rasmussen on the right side of the truck. Rasmussen’s vehicle spun around, coming to a stop in the northwest ditch of the intersection, facing southeast. Swanson continued down on the north shoulder of the road when the gooseneck of the trailer became detached and ended up in the north ditch facing west. Swanson stopped in the eastbound lane of traffic facing southwest. Rasmussen’s vehicle was totaled with an estimated value of $2,500. Swanson’s vehicle was totaled with an estimated value of $10,000. The Titan trailer sustained an estimated $1,200 in damage. Swanson sustained a minor bump on the head, but did not seek medical attention. Rasmussen was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
Incident Reports
On June 10, at 9:13 p.m., Alicia Terry, Red Oak, reported to police that between late Friday evening and early Saturday morning, an unknown individual(s) entered her residence and removed several items, among them an Xbox 360 and games.
