INCIDENTS

• On July 25, Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of vandalism to a vehicle in the 200 block of East 4th Street in Villisca. Deputies found the hood of a 1994 Isuzu Amigo had been pushed in. Damage is estimated at $300. The incident occurred between 1-6 a.m. July 25.

ACCIDENTS

• On July 22, at about 4:12 p.m., Red Oak Police officers were called to an accident at the intersection of 4th and Valley Streets. Bayley Lampe, 17, Red Oak, was driving north on 4th Street in a 2012 Kia Forte owned by Heather Lampe, Red Oak. Christine McGlade, 23, Red Oak, driving a 2007 Pontiac, was traveling east on Valley Street and was struck by Lampe’s vehicle. McGlad admitted she had failed to yield. Brieanna Hancock, a passenger in McGlade’s vehicle, was taken to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital emergency room. Damage to Lampe’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000 and damage to McGlade’s was about $5,000. Both vehicles were towed. McGlade was cited for failure to yield and failure to provide proof of liability.  
  
• On July 22, at 9:40 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated an accident at 200th Street and K Avenue east of Red Oak. Owen VonDielingen, 16, Red Oak, driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota, was traveling east on 200th Street and attempted a U-turn on K Avenue. VonDielingen saw a light behind him but thought it was farther away. He performed the U-turn and was struck in the driver’s door by a 1982 Honda Goldwing, operated by Dustin Swagel, 44, Stanton. Swagel and his passenger, Gustin Swagel, 17, Stanton, were transported by Red Oak Rescue to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Damage to VonDielingen’s vehicle was $5,000 and damage to Swagel’s vehicle was $2,000. VonDielingen was cited for failure to obey stop sign.
