Accidents

  • On Sept. 6 at 3:50 p.m., the Sheriff’s office responded to a single vehicle property damage accident at 160th St. and J Ave. in rural Montgomery County. A 2003 Ford Ranger pickup owned by Chad Harold, 34, Red Oak, and driven by Jacob Ballard, 17, Red Oak, was northbound on J Ave. Ballard attempted to turn east onto 160th St., but was traveling too fast and lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to go into the north ditch of 160th St. and roll onto its top. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $5,000. Ballard was cited for failure to maintain control and violation of instruction permit. The Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Red Oak Fire and Rescue.
