Additional H1N1 vaccinations scheduled

Children who received the first installment of the H1N1 vaccination is urged to receive the second round at a clinic Thursday in Red Oak.

According to a press release, Thursday’s clinic from 3-6 p.m. will provide the number two booster for children between the ages of six months and nine years. These children must have received their first H1N1 booster 28-30 days prior to Thursday’s clinic.

The second booster is required for them to receive full immunity from the H1N1 virus.

This clinic will take place at the Public Health Nursing Office, located at 1109 Highland Avenue in Red Oak.

A second H1N1 clinic will take place Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the First Christian Church in Red Oak.

This clinic will be open for the following priority groups:

pregnant women;

health care workers;

primary care providers for infants less than six months of age;

children between the ages of six months and 24 years;

anyone between the ages of 25-64 years old with a medical risk, including asthma, and heart disease.

Vaccinations will be offered from 4-7 p.m. at the church, which is located at 1909 Summit Dr. in Red Oak.

There is no charge for the vaccinations, and anyone with questions should call 623-4893.
