Agnes J. Oslin, 84

Agnes Josephine (Tiemeyer) Oslin, 84, died on April 15, 2009, at Pleasant View Care Center in Rock Port, Mo.

Agnes Oslin was born Oct. 17, 1924, at Phelps City, Mo., one of two children of the late Carl Herman and Josephine Marie (Salfrank) Tiemeyer. She grew up and graduated from high school in Rock Port, Mo. She married Claude R. Oslin Sr. of Watson, Mo. on July 15, 1945. They became the parents of three children, Ray, Cheri and Randy.

Claude and Agnes started their married life farming in Rock Port, Mo. They moved to Oakland, Calif. for two years and then moved back to Rock Port, Mo. to farm and to help care for her parents. In 1959 they moved to Braddyville, where they farmed until 1968 when they purchased a farm near College Springs. They farmed and resided there until they retired and moved to Clarinda in April of 1995. After Claude passed away in 1997, she and her son, Randy, lived in Clarinda until 2001, when they went to West Ridge Care Center. In 2003, she moved to pleasant View Care Center in Rock Port, Missouri.

Agnes was an active member of Clearmont, Missouri Christian Church, teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Claude.

She is survived by her son, Claude R. (Peggy) Oslin Jr. (Ray) of Shenandoah, daughter Cheri Lynn (Roger) Smith of Red Oak, son Randy Clint Oslin of Shenandoah, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and her sister Joan (Marvin) Bell of St. Joseph, Mo.

Funeral services were held on April 18 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda with interment at Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials to the Clearmont Christian Church. The Tradition of Walker-Merrick Funeral Home of Clarinda, has served the family.712-542-2153.
