Ann A. Burgan, 89

Ann A. Burgan, 89, of Red Oak, died Dec. 26, 2009, at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood.

Ann A. Burgan, the daughter of Frank J. and Anna (Topenka) Wolrab was born April 22, 1920, in Mt. Vernon. Ann was raised and graduated from high school at Mt. Vernon, Iowa. She then attended beauty school in Des Moines. Ann married Maurice J. Martin on Feb. 6, 1946, at Belle Plaine. The first beauty shop she owned was in Belle Plaine. She and Maurice moved to Atlantic, in l949 where they owned and operated a hotel business, along with a restaurant, bar, beauty and barber shop along with a laundromat, all at the same location. Ann later married William G. Burgan on June 10, 1967 in Omaha, Neb. Ann and William moved to Red Oak in l969.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband: William; and brother: Milo Wolrab.

Ann is survived by two sons: Patrick (Vicki) Martin of Moorpark, Calif.; and Steve (Deb) Martin of Glenwood; four grandchildren; and brother: Francis Wolrab of Mt. Vernon.

Funeral Service will be held Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Alan Dean officiating.

Visitation with the family present on Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m.
