Arthur Theodore Pafford, 63

Arthur Theodore Pafford, 63, died on April 12, 2009, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Arthur “Ted” Pafford was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Omaha, Neb. to Worley Heith Pafford and Anna May (Argenbright) Pafford.

Ted Pafford graduated Tech High in Omaha, however he was serving in the United States Navy aboard a ship while the graduation ceremony took place.

He served in the Navy as a SN E-3 from July 13, 1964 to July 14, 1966. He was discharged from the Navy after he broke his back in a fall aboard the ship. Following this he was married to Kathryn Lynn Jorgensen in Council Bluffs, June 29, 1968. The couple has two children: Angela and Allen.

Ted was an over the road truck driver for years before becoming a machinist at D&L in Red Oak and later for Interwest and Red Oak Machine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda (Larry) Young, and nephew Theodore Lee Pafford.

Ted is survived by his wife, Kathy of Nodaway; daughter, Angela (Keith) Haley of Ackley; son, Allen Pafford of Villisca; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Karen) Pafford of Nodaway, and David (Norma) Pafford of Omaha, Neb.

Memorial services were held on April 15, at the Nodaway community center in Nodaway, with family visitation following the service.
