Auditor, supervisors running unopposed in June

RED OAK  — There will only be one contested race in the June primary for Montgomery County offices.

Chris Stephens is challenging incumbent Joe Sampson for the Republican nomination for sheriff.

Stephens ran against Sampson in 2008 as well.

Donna Robinson (District 5) and Bryant Amos (District 3) are running unopposed for the Republican nomination for the Board of Supervisors, while Ted Schoonover is running unopposed for the GOP nomination as County Auditor.

For Amos and  Robinson, they are seeking their third and second term, respectively, to the Board of Supervisors.

Schoonover is seeking his first full-term as County Auditor. He was elected over Margaret Stoldorf in a special election in April 2011.

With no Democrats filing for the county offices, the winners from the June primary will run unopposed in the November general election unless someone successfully petitions for the independent nomination.
