Burn ban lifted in Montgomery Co.

Due to recent precipitation and current snow cover, Montgomery County Fire officials have agreed to lift the Open Burn Ban that was put in place last week due to abnormally dry conditions throughout all of Montgomery County.

As a reminder to all area residents, please call the Montgomery County Communications Center at 712-623-5107 to report any open burns in Montgomery County that are taking place to alleviate an unnecessary fire department responses.

All area fire departments thank you for your consideration of not open burning while the burn ban was in place during the abnormally warm and dry conditions we faced in the previous week.  

The Montgomery County Emergency Management Office thanks all media outlets who released this information and kept all residence aware of the situation.
