Cecil L. Clark, 76

Cecil L. Clark, 76, Red Oak died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Cecil LeRoy Clark, the son of George and Ethel (Roots) Clark was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Hastings. Cecil graduated from high school in l954. He served his country in the U.S. Army from Oct. 22, 1959, until his honorable discharge Feb. 5, 1962.

He married Karen Kay Adams July 23, 1964, in Omaha, Neb. After Cecil’s military service, he worked for his dad on the farm. Cecil and Karen made their home in Hastings until moving to Acorn Acres in Red Oak in March of 2005. Cecil spent most of his years working for the John Deere dealership in Malvern and later in Red Oak. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, his grandchildren and great-grandson.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hazel Eddie, Doris Alexander and Linda Davis; and a brother, George Clark Jr.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Karen of Red Oak; children, Raymond and Jan Harris of Blue Springs, Mo., Mary and Greg Wade of Red Oak and Ken and Kristin Clark of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Matthew and Miranda Wade of Council Bluffs, Emily Wade and Brian Wade of Red Oak, Christine and Stephanie Harris of Blue Springs, Mo. and Mitchell and Evan Clark of St. Louis, Mo.; a great-grandson, Preston Wade of Council Bluffs; a sister, Betty Benson of LasVegas, Nev.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, with Pastor Carl Phillips officiating.
