Citizen comment included at next Council meeting
RED OAK — Citizens will have an opportunity to voice their opposition or support of the Council’s split decision to give $56,000 to the Montgomery County YMCA at its next meeting.
The Council is scheduled to meet Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Red Oak City Hall on Sixth Street.
As this is the first meeting of the month, time will be set aside for citizen’s comments, limited to two minutes per person.
At the last meeting, the Council voted 4-1 to increase funding to the Y by $50,000. The change will be reflected in the 2011 budget, which has yet to be approved. City Administrator Brad Wright said at the Feb. 6 meeting, the Council will set a public hearing for the budget, expected to be scheduled March 4. At that time, the Council will formally vote on the budget.
