City bowling tourney held

The 49th Annual Women’s City Bowling Tournament was held March 9 through March 15 in Red Oak.

There were 12 Teams, 13 Doubles, 26 Singles, and 23 All Events participating. First place team was Fareway with a 3132. Members are: Karen Pafford, Deanna Nowels, Bobbi Schon, Mary Wade, & Pam Schoening.

Second place team was United Farmers Mere Company with a 3109. Members are: Elinor Almquist, Carol Ocker, Jackie Richards, Kathy Chatterton, and Mary Wade. Third place team was Russell Electric with a 3055. Members are: Karen Pafford, Deana Lewis, Avis Petty, Nancy Moss, and Goldie Adams. First place Doubles were: Mary Rolf and Kim Marsden with a 1342. Second place was: Goldie Adams & Sandy Hanna with a 1256. Third place was: Jackie Pafford and Karen Pafford with a 1247

First place Singles was Bobbi Schon with a 665. Second place was Mary Rolf with a 664. Third place was Cindy Horn with a 646.

All Events Scratch: First place was Mary Wade with a 1645. Second place was Karen Pafford with a l624. Third place was Patsy Orr with a 1619.

All Events Handicap: First place was Bobbi Schon with a 2048. Second place was Mary Rolf with a 1957. Third place was Rosemary Gray with a 1891.

Next year we will be celebrating our 50th year so I hope we can have a bigger participation in the City Tournament.
