Clarinda graduate enters Fareway management program
RED OAK — A recent Clarinda high school graduate has been transferred to the Red Oak Fareway to participate in an ongoing management-training program.
Ethan Grimes started working at the Red Oak Fareway grocery store in late January.
Grimes started working at the Clarinda Fareway in April, 2008, performing carryout and stocking duties.
By the time he graduated from Clarinda High School in 2010, he was working behind the register and writing orders before being transferred to Red Oak.
He said he knew early on that he wanted to pursue a career with the grocery store after graduating from high school.
“I get to meet new customers every day and the atmosphere here is awesome,” Grimes said. “I love working here.”
Born in Oregon, Grimes moved to Southwest Iowa in 2005.
Grimes is currently engaged to Victoria Pruitt, with an August 2013 wedding planned.
Pruitt is a full-time student at Iowa Western Community College, studying business and currently works in Clarinda as well at Sears.
