Corner Conference volleyball tournament brackets released

It's that time of the season again. The Corner Conference volleyball tournament kicks off next Monday around the area. Here are the first round/quarterfinal match-ups taking place.

There will be a first round play-in game as South Page takes on Clarinda Academy with the winner moving on to play Stanton, the defending Corner Conference champions, later in the evening. The match will take place at 6 p.m. in Stanton, with the quarterfinal match versus the Viqueens  scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m.

The other quarterfinal matches are set in the tournament. East Mills will be home as they host the Essex Trojanettes. The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. start in Malvern. Freshmen and junior varsity matches will be played prior to the varsity match.

The winner of the East Mills-Essex match plays the winner of Stanton-South Page/Clarinda Academy Tuesday night.

The other quarterfinal matches take place in Tabor and Sidney. Fremont-Mills will be home as they host Heartland Christian. The match will start at 6 p.m.

Sidney plays Nishnabotna with a scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m. There will be freshmen and junior varsity matches prior to the varsity start.

The winner of FM-Heartland Christian and Sidney-Nishnabotna will play each other in the semifinals.

The semifinals take place next Tuesday in Stanton and the championship and consolation matches take place next Thursday in Farragut.
