County Road Crew Honored

Montgomery County’s Bridge and Road crew was recently honored at the 48th annual Concrete Paving Workshop by receiving the 2011 Portland Cement Concrete Paving Awards.  In determining the winners of Iowa’s most prestigious paving awards, 88 nominated projects  were  rated  on  smoothness,  quality  control,  general  appearance  and  workmanship,  contractor  management, safety and project complexity. The ICPA and the Iowa Department of Transportation  (DOT) jointly evaluated and recognized the following projects as 2011’s best concrete pavements built  in 12 categories. Montgomery County was recognized in County Roads Category for a paving project on County Highway 54 from Highway 48 east to County Road M63.
