Danny Long, 61

Danny Long, 61, of Villisca, passed away Jan. 7, 2012, at the Omaha Methodist Hospital.

Danny Joe Long was born to Loren and Ada Marie (Dorr) Long March 14, 1950, in Creston.

He graduated from Bakersfield High School in Missouri.

Danny served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Villisca American Legion.

He worked at Union Carbide in the maintenance and mechanic departments.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Ada Long, and brother, Leslie Long.

Survivors include his wife, Laverna Long, and son, Devon Long, both of Villisca; sisters, Ruth (Clarence) Ross, of Elliott, and Nancy (Roger) Bledsoe, of Donna, Texas; brother, Rick (Jenny) Sprague, of Iowa, La.; father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Dixie Black, of Villisca; brothers-in-law, Gary (Stephanie) Hightshoe and Kirk (Laura) Black, both of Villisca, Lloyd (Kelly) Black, of Omaha, and Kim Black, of Council Bluffs; sisters-in-law, Diane (Mark) Fish and Tracy (Jon) Spunaugle, both of Villisca; uncle, Ronald Figgins, of Villisca; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private family graveside services took place Wednesday, Jan. 11. Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
