Dedication Ceremony for Simpson, band to form

There will be a dedication ceremony for a new monument in honor of the late Richard Simpson, a Red Oak High School Band Director from 1941-1980.

The event will take place Friday, June 22, at 6 p.m., at the Richard Simpson Band Shell Stage in the northwest corner of Fountain Square Park in Red Oak.

A concert band is being assembled to perform some concert selections in memory of Simpson.

Rehearsal will be Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m., and Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m. Both rehearsals will take place in the Red Oak Middle School band room.
