Different car, same story as Lincoln man wins Best of Show again
After winning Best Of Show Stock honors three years in a row at the Classy Chassis Car Show, Mark Pieloch decided to leave his prize winning 1955 Chevrolet at home this year.
Instead, he entered a different 1955 Chevrolet that he purchased more than four years ago. Pieloch has been remodeling the Bel-Air convertible Indy 500 stock car for about three-and-a-half years, and brought it to Red Oak Saturday for the show on the square.
He left with another Best of Show trophy in the car’s trunk.
Despite early morning and late afternoon showers, nearly 130 classic car enthusiasts participated in the show, with their vehicles lining all four sides of the square.
Kent Churchill, who organized the show, had his doubts the show would ever take place.
“I don’t think we can reiterate enough the inclement weather we had,” he said. “I didn’t think this was ever going to come together.”
In addition to Pieloch’s 1955 Chevrolet, the other top award, Best of Show Modified, was given to Fritz Feyerhern for his 1964 GTO. Feyerhorn is from West Point, Neb., one of six states represented at the car show, including Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Arizona, and Kansas.

Best Convertible — Jeris Peterson, 1957 Ford Retractable
Best Custom — Ted Aherns, 1946 Mercury
Best Ford — Otto Peterson, 1965 Mustang
Best Mopar — Wayne Schiemann, 1970 Barracuda
Best Unfinished — Marvin Hiatt, 1948 Truck
Ladies Choice — Neal Holling, 1932 Ford
Best Engine — Dwaine Gillespie, 1966 Nova
