Dora L. Keast, 74

Dora Lou Keast, 74, of Carson, died on May 10, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Dora Lou Hatswell was born at the old Red Oak Hospital on Jan. 12, 1935. She was the only child of Carl Albert and Jessie (Wigginton) Hatswell. She graduated from Macedonia High School in 1953 and then worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Omaha.

On April 12, 1954, she married Edward Faye Keast. They lived in Augusta, Georgia where Edward was stationed with the U.S. Army.

They returned to the U.S. in January 1957 when Edward enrolled at ISU in Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jessie Hatswell, and sister-in-law, Dolora Keast.

Dora Lou is survived by her husband Edward after 55 years of marriage; son Russell (Diane); Jill Keast of Overland Park, Kan.; and Bret (Kimberlee) of Sugar Land, Texas; seven grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Catherine (Dutch) Lett of Macedonia, Karen (John) Hall, Carol (Curtis) Edic, all of Council Bluffs; brother-in-law Ron (Carol) Keast of Red Oak.

Funeral service was held on May 13 at Faith Community Church in Red Oak with Pastor David MacDonald, officiant.

Immediately following the service, a luncheon was held before proceeding to the Macedonia Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of fellowship with the family was held at the DeWitt Building in Macedonia.

A memorial fund has been established.
