Driving Miss Daisy, Shrek The Musical up for many ICTA awards

The Performing Arts and Education Association of Southwest Iowa is up for several awards through the Iowa Community Theatre Association.

The 2019 Outstanding Awards of Excellence winners will be announced at the Gala on March 28, in Des Moines. The Festival and the Gala will be held in Des Moines March 27-28.

Performing Arts and Education Association of Southwest Iowa nominees are: Director in a Play, John Olson, Driving Miss Daisy; Lead Actress n a musical, Jeana Jago, Fiona, Shrek The Musical; Supporting Actor in a Play, Michael Jones as Boolie Werthan, Driving Miss Daisy; Supporting Actress in a Musical, Alexa Munsinger, Pinnochio, Shrek The Musical; and Misty Wissel, Gingy, Shrek The Musical; Chorographer, Megan Torbert, Shrek The Musical; and Musical Direction, Amy Demlow, Shrek The Musical.

The mission of the Iowa Community Theatre Association is to improve standards of productions, encourage the creation of new community theatres, provide opportunities for the interchange of materials and ideas among member organizations and individuals, represent the amateur theatre interests of Iowa in regional and national theatre meetings, and provide a means of communicating among members.
