Drug charges for duo

Two Red Oak residents were jailed on felony drug charges after a search warrant was executed Friday, and two people from Villisca were jailed for forgery following a separate investigation last week.

Search warrant 

According to the Red Oak Police Department, it was assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and its K9 unit in a search in the 200 block of East Corning Street.

As a result of the search:

• 28-year-old Nefertity Sandoval was charged with possession of ammunition by a felon, a Class D felony; possession of a Schedule II narcotic, a Class C felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Sandoval was held at the law enforcement center in lieu of $50,000 bond.

• 38-year-old Nicole Kay Anthony was charged with possession with intent to deliver amphetamine, a Class B felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Anthony was being held at the law center on $100,00 bond.

The release said further charges are pending.

Check writing charges

A 20-year-old Villisca woman was arrested and charged with eight counts of forgery for writing bad checks in Montgomery County and Red Oak.

A press release said that on Tuesday, June 28, Kelsi Jean Vannausdale was arrested after a joint investigation by the Red Oak Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. She was being held on $5,000 bond.

Court documents said the checks written on another’s account without permission were for $31.87 to the Villisca Casey’s on June 9; $47.33 to the Villisca Casey’s on June 14; $146.05 to the Red Oak Hy-Vee on June 15; $39.41 to the Villisca Casey’s on June 17; $75 to Kmart in Red Oak on June 18; $25.52 to the Villisca Casey’s on Junwe 19; $20.74 to the Red Oak Pizza Ranch on June 20; $150 and $250 to US Bank in Red Oak on June 24.

The release said that also arrested and charged in the same investigation was Eldemar Reinoso, 22, of the Dominican Republic, living in Villisca. He was held on $5,000 bond.
