Dual suicide reported in Elliott
ELLIOTT — In what is being called a double-suicide, a husband and wife in Elliott died from gunshot wounds Friday afternoon.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Evelyn Mae Embree, 83, and Marvin Dale Embree, 82, were found in their residence in rural Elliott.
Sheriff Joe Sampson said Marvin called the 911 emergency center at 12:22 p.m. before shooting himself.
The Sheriff’s report states Evelyn Mae died from two gunshot wounds, which unlike Marvin’s, were not self-inflicted.
According to the report, the investigation is complete.
The Embrees had lived most of their lives on their farm in rural Elliott, and would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Feb. 1.
