East Mills implements 1 to 1 Laptop Program in schools
The East Mills 5-12 grade students will get new laptops at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year, after the school baord approved a four year deal with Apple, Inc.
The contract includes 322 MacBook Air Laptops for students as well as 56 MacBook Pro Laptops for teachers. It also includes technical support, software, training and more. The contract comes to $1,206 per laptop, which the students will be allowed to take home except during summer months. After four years, the laptops will be replaced.
The Apple computers currently in use at the Middle and High Schools will move to Nishna Valley Elementary and Chantry Elementary. The change is expected to begin in August, before school starts.
