Election FAQ

The official Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. However, early voting has already begun. Voters can go to the Montgomery County Court House Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
The last day to mail absentee ballots is Friday, Nov. 2.

Voting on Election Day is from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. at all seven of the county polling places — precinct one: Gold Fair Building, precinct two: Red Oak Fire Station, precinct three: First Christian Church in Red Oak, precinct four: Elliott Community Building, precinct five: Grant City Fire Station, precinct six: Stanton City Fire Station and precinct seven: Villisca Community Building.

If registered in Montgomery County, nothing is needed to vote. If not registered, voters must bring a photo ID and proof of residency (like a utility bill).

Aside from the U.S. Representative race, the following offices are up for election:

• District 23 State Representative: Mark Costello (R)
• County Auditor: Stephanie Burke
• County Sheriff: Joe Sampson (R)
• District 12 State Senator: Joni Ernst (R)
• Montgomery County Hospital Trustee: Kathy J. Carlson and Kevin Cabbage
• Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner: Gary Querry, Rick Carlson and Rodney Hart and Kirk Baird, to fill vacancy
• County Agricultural Extension Office: Karen Klocke, Michael Olson, Sabrina Johnson, Carroll Freeman, Timothy Kammerer and William Drey.
