Esaias ranked fifth in preseason poll

DES MOINES—Red Oak wrestling’s Seth Esaias was recently ranked in The Predicament preseason polls, released Nov. 22.
Esaias is ranked fifth in the 171 lbs. category in Class 2A. The junior finished seventh at the state tournament, last season. Esaias is the only Red Oak wrestler ranked in the wrestling preseason poll.
Tanner Weatherman of Ballard in Huxley is ranked first. Colton Van’t Hof of Sioux City is ranked second. Kyle Lux of South Tama and Drew Cox of Clear Creek Amana are ranked third and fourth.
Wrestlers from other schools are also ranked in the preseason poll. Atlantic’s Brad Schwenke (140 lbs.), Josh Perkins (140 lbs.) and Rob Nichols (145 lbs.) are also ranked in individual polls. Creston-Orient-Macksburg, who is ranked seventh in the 2A team preseason poll, also has a couple of wrestlers with Jake Martin (135 lbs.) and Collin Bevins (215 lbs.) They’re both ranked at the top of their individual polls.
Red Oak opened the season with a double dual at Missouri Valley and a tournament in Treynor.
