Essex Community Schools supply lists
In order to help 3-6 graders become more organized, Essex is asking parents to help color code notebooks and folders. For instance: science will have green notebooks and folders, social studies will be blue, math will be red and language yellow.
Add the following supplies to your lists for art: 2 glue sticks, Elmers glue, 3 #2 pencils and an eraser.
• Kindergarten, Elmers glue, stick glue, pencils, crayons (no more than 24 ct.), scissors, supply box, 2 spiral notebooks, 2 pocket folders, gym shoes, a paint shirt, Kleenex, dry erase markers, a box of cereal for snacks, disinfecting wipes. Please, no rulers. Also, mark all supplies and possessions with your child’s name.
• First grade, book bag, white glue, erasers, pencils, crayons, scissors, pencil box, 3 wide-ruled spiral notebooks, pocket folder, gym shoes, paint shirt, box of crackers, large Kleenex, reusable water bottle, dry erase marker. No rulers.
• Second grade, highlighter, glue, erasers, red checking pen, crayons, scissors, pencil box or bag, 3 spiral notebooks, 2 pocket folders, gym shoes, paint shirt, box of crackers, large Kleenex, dry erase marker, pencils (not mechanical), disinfecting wipes, colored pencils. Please mark all supplies with child’s name.
• Third grade, 2 glue sticks, eraser/pencil top eraser, #2 pencils 24 ct., crayons, colored pencils/markers, pencil bag/pouch, 4 pocket folders, 1” binder with pockets, wide-rules loose leaf paper, gym shoes, art shirt, 2 boxes of Kleenex, Post-it notes, yellow highlighter, 2 red pens, crayons, 3 dry erase markers, Clorox wipes, 4 wide-ruled spiral notebooks.
• Fourth grade, white glue, large eraser, #2 pencils (not mechanical), dry erase marker (low odor), colored pencils, pencil bag/box, 3 spiral notebooks (green, yellow and red), 3 pocket folders (green, yellow and red), sweater/sweatshirt, gym shoes, scissors, paint shirt, 12” ruler (centimeters/inches), 2 boxes of Kleenex 200 ct., disinfecting wipes. No trapper keepers.
• Fifth grade, 2 glue sticks, 5 subject dividers, #2 pencils, pencil bag, 2 blue pens, 2 black pens, 2 red pens, colored pencils, 5 pocket folders, filler paper 200 ct., 3 ring notebook, gym shoes, scissors, 12 “ ruler (centimeters/inches), large box of Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, USB flashdrive, 2 yellow highlighters. No trapper keepers.
• Sixth grade, #2 pencils (not mechanical), red pen, ruler (centimeter/inches), scissors, crayons/colored pencils, 5 subject dividers, blue or black pens, 3 ring binder, disinfecting wipes, filler paper 200 ct., 3x5 notecards (lined), 2 boxes Kleenex, gym shoes, glue stick, scientific calculator, yellow highlighter, USB flash drive, recipe box, small sticky notes, 3 notebooks (red, yellow and green), 2 pocket folders ( red and yellow).
